I think u could just try to allocate more ram to minecraft I always allocate 4gbs for vanilla and 5 gbs for modded ik its a bit too much but at least it works, my pc has 16gbs total ram and minecrafts allocated memory by default is 2gbs so even 3 could inprove the crash and or lag situations.
